Tulsi Gabbard Announces She is Leaving the Democratic Party
Why Tulsi's Change in Party Affiliation Matters
Former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard recently launched a new podcast with the first episode being quite a bombshell. If you have followed Gabbard for any length of time you could see the difference between her and her party. So, her speech about why she decided to leave the Democratic party may not come as a surprise. Still, it made national headlines and outraged many liberals. Her leaving the party is not as shocking as her reasons why. However, her reasons for leaving the party are valid and embarrassing for the Democrats. Perhaps that is why many on the left decided to drag her down. They have long known she was not a party-over-country Democrat. She described herself as a Democrat that was a free thinker but must have ultimately realized that the party would only allow her to think freely for so long.
It has been detailed the dramatic turn the Democrat party took on her. From once being their uprising star to Hillary Clinton claiming, “She’s the favorite of the Russians.” The way her party began to treat her was horrendous, yet she stayed. She was strong enough in her beliefs in the Democratic party to withstand personal attacks. However, what made her turn around was the direction of the party. Her podcast details her grievances with today’s Democratic party and her grievances include the attack on freedom from today’s left. She also did not appreciate how our President demonized over 70 million Americans when he gave his speech from the pits of Hell, or, more widely known as the speech he gave when he went after Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans. Or how he tried to release a “Ministry of Truth” to give a “correct” viewpoint of things said and seen online. Her assessment of today’s Democratic party was not off base. She based her assessment on facts. She is right, the Democratic party is okay with anti-white racism. She gave examples such as when the Mayor of Chicago Lori Lightfoot would not call on white journalists because of their race. The problems she outlines with the party are problems that many see. It takes strong feelings to walk away from a party you have been connected to for decades. She did so not to get media attention but because she can no longer stomach how far left the party is trending.
Tulsi leaving her party that she has affiliated with for 20 years does not make her a Republican. Instead, it puts her in a category with 60% of other Americans who identify as independents. Now the two major parties in this country are the minority parties. This spells big trouble for both parties. However the Democrats are currently feeling the majority of the heat. Midterms are coming up with Democrats projected to lose in some polls both the House and the Senate. Republicans should not be so careless in how they act because what is happening in the Democratic party could very well happen in the Republican party. The Democrats decided to get woke, which will cost them election races. The Republicans will soon lose elections if they do not stand against the far-left woke policies. The country is rejecting socialism as well as left-wing policies and trending towards the right. If Republicans fail to capitalize on this, the base will soon be hard to energize.
