The State of Our Union
Last night’s State of the Union Address is receiving mixed reviews. Those inside the D.C. bubble thought President Biden gave a riveting, powerful speech. Those outside of D.C. would probably surmise the address as one given to a different country. For instance, Biden claimed that we protected our sovereignty against China. Fact check: false! Biden failed to act against Chinese aggression and made America powerless in the eyes of bad actors. Biden also went through times during the speech where it seemed like he was speaking at 2x speed. There were times Biden even began to yell inside the House Chamber as sometimes lively and at other times bored representatives looked on.
Biden’s speech was not anything inspiring compared to the Republican rebuttal from Governor Sarah Sanders. The contrast between the two speeches was stark. While President Biden often lied during his speech and failed to promote American strength, Governor Sarah Sanders encouraged American excellence. Sanders mentioned that she is the youngest Governor in America. She compared her age to the fact that Biden is the oldest president in American history, highlighting voter desire for a younger generation and different administration.
While Governor Sanders has only been in office a few short weeks, the state of Arkansas is in a much different condition than the state of our Union. Under Biden, foreign adversaries have laughed at us on the world stage. Our enemies have mocked us and tried to threaten our spot on the world stage. Although Biden has messed up, he will not be able to destroy America. Every day we are one day closer to the election. Things can radically change in America under new leadership. Republican governors have protected their states from radical woke ideology. A new president could help America get back on track. Trump, in four years, was able to launch us forward past the eight years under Obama. We can get past the failed Biden administration. Biden may have hurt us economically and on the world stage, and Americans may be down now, but never count us out. The state of our politicians is weaker than they ever have been, but the state of real Americans grows stronger with each passing day. It will take more than foreign aggression and a lack of a real president to bring us down.
